Bio

My painting road started in about 2007. My wife Misty (RIP) thought it would be a nice way for me to get my mind off of the loss of my parents and to help cope with every day stress. Self-taught, I usually paint in acrylic but once in awhile will delve into oils. I paint in my garage/studio, self-styled West Coast DIY Garage Art. I think my main drive is to see things in a different way and to show others, much like punk rock changed music, that you too can go into your garage or sacred place and tune into another dimension and let yourself flow with creativity. I am truly blessed that people like the stuff that I do...and I am very thankful...but huzzahs are not the reason one should create, create for yourself...and in saying this,  ;)  some of my art can be found in local businesses such as The Prospector Restaurant, Blaster Web Services, Third Eye Records, Azteca Mexican Restaurant and Old Town Pawn. My art hangs in the homes of Jonathan Richman, Brian Wilson, Rick Vito, Phil Shane, John Bazz, Whiteboy James, Mike Watt, Joe Baiza, writers Iman Lababedi and Bill Holdship and photographer Ellen Berman to name a few. A longtime musician, I have played drums in Copper 7, Moist and Meaty, The Final Tourguides, The Lazy Cowgirls and Jack Brewer Band and currently play in Rockford and Lord Ransom's Revenge and also a contributing writer and reviewer for jackaboutguitars and rocknycliveandrecorded websites. I currently reside in Long Beach California...and I am sure Misty is observing all of this with laughs and a smile.
